Hatchet 3 is Hatchet's horror film from 2013. It is a story about Victor Crowley, his murderous rampage through Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Kane Hodder plays Victor Crowley, Brian Quinn portrays Deputy Winslow, Rileah vanderbilt portrays Misty.



The utilization of special effects is the main strength of this movie. Hatchet 3 is a modern horror film that relies heavily on CG effects. Hatchet 3 focuses mainly on practical makeup effects and sets. This results in terrifying scenes.

Kane Hodder stands out as an formidable villain. The cast provides a solid performance. The dialogue is reminiscent of an 1980s slasher film. It is witty and funny enough. There are instances of humor in the film which add humour to bloody action.

The problem is that the (blog) budget is extremely small (reportedly one million dollars) the majority of locations used that are featured in the movie are reused locations from previous films in series. For example, the same boathouse was used twice within the movie. Many of these locations seem like they were reused from previous films from this series. For those who have seen Hatchet or Hatchet 2, this can sometimes make the movie feel familiar.

Overall, I was impressed by Hatchet 3 even though it was very similar to previous installments in the series. It also offered lots of bloody thrills as well as entertaining performances from the actors.
